After 8 years of praying, the Lord
opened a door for us to serve Him here in Nicaragua!
We served as missionaries with Word of Life Fellowship in Panama
for 7 years working with youth. In April of
2003 we joined Chosen Children Ministries to work in church planting in
Nicaragua. We have been here in Managua now
since February of 2004 and we are amazed at how God has opened so
many doors to minister to the people. |
Adrian is presently giving
leadership training classes, discipling and evangelizing in nine barrios in
several different areas of Nicaragua:
30 de Mayo/Las Torres and Padre Miguel in Juigalpa which is North of Managua, Cooperativa,
Divino Niņo and Villa
Esperanza in Salinas Grandes, about 40 minutes from Leon, Milagro de Dios and El Chague, both small communities near the
city of Leon, Xiloa, a small community about 20 minutes Southwest of
Managua, and San Benito, a town about 30 min. North of Masaya.
It is our prayer that God will continue to raise up Nicaraguan leaders to pastor new, fundamental, Bible believing churches.
. Cheryl has also begun a ladies' Bible study in Salinas Grandes and
Managua.

We
also work off and on with short-term mission teams
that come down to do building projects, Bible clubs, evangelism etc.
Keila, Noelia, and Mickey, our eldest children enjoy
translating for the short-term teams. This past summer we had several
of our supporting churches come and minister alongside us. We had the opportunity to go
to a local dump and preach the gospel as well as hand
out food and clothing to the families that
live and work there. These goodies were brought by one of our
wonderful supporting churches, First Baptist Church of West Sacramento!
This group also helped build a
house for one of the pastor's and his family in Divino Nino, Salinas Grandes,
together with another of our supporting churches, Southcenter Community
Baptist Church, from Seattle, WA. There were also classes for the
women in which we taught card making
as
well as other crafts that they will be able to sell. It was a blessing for
all!

The leadership institute
has now begun in the ministry center in Leon with approximately 20
leaders and pastors attending every Monday. They are studying the
book of Ephesians and Bible Survey. We are excited about what God is
doing and is going to do through this ministry.

God
gave us the wonderful opportunity of having our first camp in March 2009 at
which we had an attendance of 85 teens. It was an awesome experience
which has opened the door for a new avenue of ministry with the youth.
We are calling this ministry "Youth of Impact". Every Saturday Adrian
meets with two different youth groups and is going through a discipleship
program so that then they can, in turn, disciple other teens in their
communities. We're excited about this ministry and all that God has in
store.
